A friend asked me the other day why I never draw a celebrity. Now I'm not very fond of that but I thought it would be fun to do one, so I decided to draw this lovely picture of Audrey Tautou (Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, The Da Vinci Code) that I'd seen some time ago.
The background of the original photo was dark but I left it white to bring out the contrast between the darker parts like her dress, hair and eyes (which are the actual beauty of the piece) against the light background. I like how it came out. Hope you like it too.
- graphite and Conté pencil on paper
- 30 x 30 cm
- about 20 hours
edit: Thank you all for the great comments and the favs! You guys are too kind.

Those poor brownies.. all cut up, whisked, then baked. Imagine if you were a brownie. Then being eaten afterwards. D: All the good things in life die young.. *shrug* Oh well. *munch munch*
